Trend Alert: Fresh Floral Jewelry

"Life is too short to wear boring jewelry"- Anonymous

Have you ever heard anyone say "I have too much jewelry"?  Yeah, we haven't either.  Everyone loves a little something special to accent their outfit.  Some people prefer gold, some silver and some go for something a little more unique.  Floral jewelry is one of the biggest up and coming trends, whether you are going out for the night or attending a special event, floral jewelry is one way to guarantee that no one else will be wearing the same thing!

This up and coming trend was popularized by Wendy Andrade, a jewelry and floral designer that published a book called Fresh Floral Jewelry.   Wendy travels around to different places to teach her the art of floral jewelry design to other creative florists.  She recently sat down with the  the Blumz by JRDesigns design team and taught us more about floral jewelry making.  We created a few fun designs with her and learned more about this trend.  We are really looking forward to creating some unique wearable pieces for our clients when they attend parties, events, and weddings.  We wanted to show you some of the amazing things that we can create with a few fresh Blumz. This is an extra special way to add a pop of color to your outfit!

Check out some of the different things that we can do, and call us (248-398-5130/ 313-964-5777) to order something special for your next event.

We are excited to welcome these individuals to our fair city and we hope that they enjoy their stay in Detroit. To help our guests figure out where to eat and what to do while they are visiting Blumz by JRDesigns has put together a short list of some of the best things Detroit has to offer.

Don't forget, if you have any last minute event or floral needs, Blumz by JRDesigns has a store conveniently located in downtown Detroit to help you out. We even rent tuxedos if you get invited to  a big event that you weren't planning on attending before you left!  Welcome to Detroit, please enjoy your stay!

Here is a list of great restaurants that you might want to check out while your in town:

Slows BBQ- Slows is known for it's BBQ and they offer a variety of unique sauces to dress up your meal. They are also known for their mac and cheese, which is a must try if you visit.  Slows has two locations, a full service restaurant at 2138 Michigan Ave. and a to-go carryout location at 4107 Cass Ave.  The food is so good that there is usually a wait when you get there.  We suggest eating a snack before you go and grabbing a drink while you wait for the table, we promise it is worth it!

Roast- This restaurant features a menu that was created by world renown chef Michael Symon. They are known for the Roast burger but we have never been disappointed with anything we have ordered. Here's an insider tip, there is a special happy hour menu that is served from  at 4:30 pm- 6:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday. This special menu is only served at the bar and features some of their best items at a deep discount. Roast is located at 1128 Washington Blvd, Detroit, MI 48226.

The Spirit of Detroit was built in 1958 and represents a lot of different things to a lot of different people, some see it as a symbol of the relationship god has with his people and some people see it was a symbol of the strength of Detroit. The fist was dedicated to the city of Detroit in 1986. "It represents the power of his (Joe Louis) punch both inside and outside the ring. Because of his efforts to fight Jim Crow laws, the fist was symbolically aimed toward racial injustice". Both are staples of downtown and worth a visit.
