Blumz Petals It Forward In Detroit!

Last Wednesday, October 19th Team Blumz drove two vans of flowers to Campus Maritus Park in Downtown Detroit to hand out 1000+ bouquets to unsuspecting Detroiters.  We planned to be at the park for about three hours but all the bouquets were gone in less than 45 minutes! In fact, there was a large crowd of locals waiting for us and waving when they saw our vans pull up.

Our team of six quickly handed out bouquets to everyone that greeted us and then set up our flower cart in the park to start surprising the people of Detroit.  We gave each person that we encountered a bouquet to take home for themselves and one to give to someone else to make them smile, the way they were smiling when we gave them the bouquets in the first place. Everyone knows that it is fun to receive flowers but we suspect that they learned something we already knew. It's even more exciting to give flowers to someone else and watch their face light up with joy.

Our team expected to make everyone else smile on Wednesday but instead found out that at the end of it all we were the ones that were grinning.   It was a pleasure to take some time out of the day to do spread some love and positivity in the heart of the Motor City.  We truly appreciated all the smiles, hugs and sincere thank you's that we received!

We know that there is power in flowers and we encourage you to petal it forward in your own lives whenever you can. This can be any type of kind gesture. For example, you could buy the coffee for the person in line after you at Starbucks, or you could help a friend move, you could even  send someone an unexpected bouquet of flowers.
